Replica Casa Vicens Fountain by Antoni Gaudí

In the gardens of the “Museu de les Aigües”, of the AGBAR Foundation, is located one of our projects with more heritage and artistic value. It’s a reliable reply of the “Fountain of the Casa Vicens” by Antoni Gaudí, done at a real scale, listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

A digital reproduction of the work was made through the original plans, and also a scale model was build to be able to design the complex parabolic arches from the source. Its reconstruction has been completed and has been done using the same techniques and materials with which Gaudi designed it in 1883.

We did the construction from 27,000 hand-made bricks, which were made handcrafted, one by one, as it was done at that time, by the Duran de Bigues i Riells kiln, to which must be added 3,000 porcelain tiles.

On the two pillars at the end of the 10-meter-high fountain are the tanks, that allow water to flow, recreating the sound of a waterfall, providing a sense of freshness to the surroundings and at the same time, enhancing the privacy to the original property.

Daniel Giralt-Miracle was the historical and artistic advisor of this project, and Josep Vicent Gómez Serrano the architect, he is also professor at the UPC and one of the best specialists in Gaudi’s work. A luxury team, which has made it possible to meet a new challenge to Obres Tècniques Lloret.
